Study shows benefits of Mini Gastric Bypass compared to Sleeve Gastrectomy
In a recently published article (OBES SURG (2017) 27:2479–2487), one anastomosis gastric bypass (OAGB/MGB) was shown to have increased weight loss, remission of comorbidities, shorter mean hospital stay, and lower mortality versus Sleeve Gastrectomy. The incidence of leaks and intra-abdominal bleeding was similar between the two approaches. After review of PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Scopus databases, in accordance with the PRISMAguidelines, seventeen studies met the inclusion criteria incorporating 6761 patients.
