Mini Gastric Bypass (MGB)- an ideal procedure?

Many procedures for obesity have come and gone. Many are are being developed and will soon be out. But what about the MGB?

There is no perfect procedure for obesity. There is, however, one procedure that is highly effective, has low complications, is EASILY reversible, EASILY revisable and compared to the others, burns no bridges. No matter what complication or issue that may arise, you have the good fortune of having an easy exit strategy.

If you do not lose enough, easy to revise laparoscopically.

If you lose too much, easy to reverse laparoscopically.

If you have a leak, whether early or late, easy to manage laparoscopically with either primary repair or reversal or conversion.

If you want to convert a failed band, it is a great procedure that can be done in one procedure.

If you want to convert a failed sleeve, MGB is perfect. Half of the surgery has already been done! Why mess with the duodenum?

MGB is simple, safe and effective. It burns no bridges and allows for future modifications if necessary.
